Health Is…

I asked a question recently on social media:

Health is _______?

And then I waited.

But not passively. I waited with curiosity, a listening heart, and a little notebook close by. Because I’ve learned something over the years... when you ask a real question and give people space to answer, you don’t just get replies.

You get real insight and inspiration.

I asked not what the world says health should be, but what it really is, actively...for you. In your body. In your mind. In your everyday life.

You responded with such honesty and beauty, I couldn't wait to share and post this entry.

You said…

“Health is freedom.”

“Health is peace.”

“Health is wholeness.”

“Health is wealth.”

“Health is prioritizing my priorities and quieting the noise.”

“Health is showing up for the people I love and choosing myself first so I actually can.”

One friend said, “Health is on the near horizon. I’m still working on the first four letters.” H.E.A.L.

I felt that. I’ve been there.

Another said, “It’s feeling my best… but that definition has changed. It used to be about numbers, now it looks like drinking water, reducing stress, staying connected, laughing, growing in Christ. Enjoying life is just as important as the physical stuff.”

That, right there. That’s BodyBright!

That’s the soul of this message we keep leaning into.

Not the chase of health, but the integration of it.

Peacefully. Joyfully. Calmly.

As I sat with all of your answers, I opened up A Course in Miracles and read this:

“Health is seen as the natural state of everything when interpretation is left to the Holy Spirit… Health is the result of relinquishing all attempts to use the body lovelessly.”

I had to pause. Reread. Breathe it in. And sit with it for several minutes in quiet meditation.

What if health isn’t something we earn or win or finally achieve after all the striving?

What if it’s our natural state - the way we were created to be - when we stop using our bodies to prove something, achieve something, reach something?

What if health is the fruit of releasing the war within?

I used to think health was about rules and regimens. I thought if I just ate the “right” thing, worked out "enough" minutes, and weighed the “right” number, I’d feel whole.

But health - true health is so much more than that.

It’s not just physical. It’s spiritual, emotional, relational.

It’s showing up with our whole selves, even when we’re messy.

It’s learning to listen to what our body and spirit actually need.

It’s laughter and quiet mornings. It’s boundary-setting and breath work.

It’s crying when we need to cry and resting when we need to rest.

It’s being gentle with ourselves! Not just when we’re strong, but when we feel weak.

Health might be… Spirit guiding your next right step.

Letting go of the arrival fallacy.

Trusting that you are already loved, not when you get it “together,” but right now.

So here’s what I’m sitting with today:

Health is not just one answer. It’s an unfolding. A becoming. A returning.

It’s the rhythm of grace in our daily lives.

It’s the wholeness we stop fighting for when we finally let Love lead.

And in case no one told you this today:

You don’t have to chase health.

You can simply return to it.

You can choose it gently.

You can listen.

And you can redefine it… as often as you need to.

Because the truest kind of health?

It’s not in the mirror.

It’s in the miracle of being fully alive.

Health is…?

Maybe you already know.

Maybe you’re still uncovering it.

Either way, we are here to support your journey, one step at a time.
